KEK hereby informs that today at about 10:40 in village Letanc – Podujevë, a firearm assault has occurred against the KEK’s employee. KEK’s Feeder Specialists were driving the vehicle when the attack occurred. The assaulter, who is remains fugitive thusfar, has fired seven shots to the vehicle, but fortunately, none of the employees sitting in the vehicle was injured. The case has happened after a disconnection action was being performed in that area, due to big debts owed to corporation. The employees have reported this case to the Kosovo Police.

KEK j.s.c strongly condemns this attack and urges the law enforcement authorities to undertake all necessary actions against the wrongdoers(s), so he can get the deserved punishment.   

Only when the wrongdoers who commit unprecedented offences will receive the deserved punishment, the justice will be done. That will also effect directly in prevention of similar offences in future. The assaults against KEK employees while performing their official duties, as it was the case today, pose a major obstacle to KEK fulfilling its mission. KEK will not tolerate this to occur again, in spite of having happened repeatedly in the past, and will undertake all the actions as permitted by the regulations and laws in force.
