KEK j.s.c informs that on Thursday afternoon, 24.11.2011, KEK was forced to stop unit B1 as a result of technical problems. This has made the energy supply situation very difficult. The management has made every effort to ensure additional import supply, but because of huge shortage of energy in the region, the secured quantity is not enough to cover meet entirely the energy demand.

The energy supply situation is to be stabilised in 24 hours when the Unit B1 is excepted to be returned into operation.

KEK j.s.c apologises to the costumers because of created energy situation and ensures them that they are making maximum effort to ensure better and qualitative energy supply.

Actually, the domestic power generation relies on units A3, A4, A5 of Power Plant A that generate together 400 MWh, the HPP Ujmani with 32 MWh during peak hours, and import will be around 350MWh.

On the other hand, the energy demand has increased enormously in recent days and the peak consumption is recorded at around 1100 MWh.

Owing to this, KEK kindly asks the customers to use other alternative forms for space heating, where it is possible, especially knowing that those alternative heating forms are cheaper and healthier, to assist thus KEK in provision of a qualitative service to customers.
