KEK j.s.c informs that the contractor Hammon Environmental/Intering has intensified the activities on the construction of electrostatic precipitator for A5 unit. The project is foreseen to be completed by July, whilst the most of activities are already completed.   

 

After the construction of electrostatic precipitators, this unit will have emission according European Union standards. Management of KEK is supervising continuously the activities and they are very satisfied with completed works.     

 

“Based on actual completed works it is obvious that the contractor is working with high seriousness. This fact makes us very satisfied because the replacement of electrostatic precipitator and other investments in the environment are one of the main priorities of KEK, said Arben Gjukaj Managing Director of KEK.  

 

The environmental experts will have no reason for displeasure since the works that are completed in PP “Kosova A” will have the emission dropped down to standards respectively the gases will not be seen .

 

After the replacement of electrostatic precipitators in unit A5, immediately will start the replacement in unit A3 and will start until the third quarter following with the replacement of electrostatic precipitators in unit A4. The replacement will not be performed in the same period because the unit must be stopped until the complete change of electrostatic precipitators. The project will be completed in the first quarter of 2013 year and projects cost will be over 25 million-euro, a self-investment of KEK.

Except the electrostatic precipitators replacement, the project for covering of the overburden dump near PP “Kosova A”, construction of hydraulic ash transport and liquidation of over than 20 thousands tons of hazardous materials is nearing completion too. All those projects will be completed within this year, and actually most of works are completed. The cost for abovementioned projects is about 50 million euro.
